So many Austin artists comprise the Austin music scene! Music has therapeutic value by nature, and these are some groups that I have participated in and supported. I am excited to promote these groups as a board certified music therapist!
Brit has had the pleasure of singing with Panoramic Voices, a community choir comprised of all skill levels of singing and amazing people! It is an inclusive environment and provides materials at no cost for those who need it. Singing and community promote wellness and happiness for many!

Chorus Austin began in 1965 and since has continued the tradition of welcoming the community in to sing great works. This inclusive choir performs classical music and holds auditions to include Austin musicians.

Infants with disabilities get a strong start in life through vital developmental support.
People with disabilities receive assistance from home care workers for daily tasks, ensuring independence and dignity.
Right now, Congress is making big decisions about our nation’s priorities and how to pay for them. They are voting on policies that will take away funding from Medicaid health care and services—services that people with disabilities rely on. If Medicaid is cut, millions of lives will be deeply impacted.
ACT NOW to tell Congress to protect Medicaid!

Families must know to put their disabled individual on the waiting list, but there is little help available to navigate this process. Furthermore, people can lose Medicaid coverage fairly easily due to the lack of autorenewal in Texas. This is an issue brought up in the last legislative session that was denied by conservative lawmakers.
